Say What? The Fun and Educational Game for Clear Speech

Welcome to Say What?, the exciting game that helps players master clear and confident speech through interactive play! Designed for 2-4 players, Say What? teaches articulation, sound recognition, and mouth mechanics—making it perfect for classrooms, speech therapy sessions, or family game nights.

How to Play

Voiced or Unvoiced?
Players place a hand on their throat while making a sound. If they feel a vibration, the sound is voiced—move to the lightning bolt. If there’s no vibration, it’s unvoiced—move to the finger-over-lips spot.

Blocked or Unblocked?
Players look in a mirror while repeating the sound. The teacher or parent asks, Is it blocked or unblocked?

Blocked Sounds:
If blocked, identify what’s stopping the sound:

  • Lips? Go to the fish spot.
  • Tongue? Go to the frog spot.
  • Teeth? Go to the shark spot.
  • Throat? Go to the dragon spot.

Unblocked Sounds:
If unblocked (typically vowels), move 2 spaces forward to the next Lion or Lightning Bolt.

Cursive Stroke Families (Optional for Older Learners):
For advanced learning, players can also practice identifying the cursive stroke family for each sound.

🎯 Players move 3 spots per turn and race to the finish line!

What Makes It Special

Builds Clear Communication: Helps players understand how sounds are produced, improving clarity and confidence.
Interactive and Fun: Encourages movement, reflection, and active learning.
Flexible for Different Ages: Optional cursive stroke elements make it adaptable for younger and older learners alike.
